Mission Statement
The mission of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police Department with the incumbent resources of the Tribal Security and Dispatch Departments is to maintain peace, provide protection and safety of all persons and property within the geographical boundaries of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation held in trust by the United States Government.
We strive diligently to accomplish our mission through vigilant enforcement of all applicable Federal, State, and Tribal Laws and ordinances, as well as adherence to all Government to Government agreements, Memorandums of Understandings and Gaming Compacts, all of which assist in establishing the guidelines set forth in the Policies and Procedures of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police Department to include those of the Tribal Security and Dispatch Departments.
The men and women of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police Department, as well as those of the Tribal Security and Dispatch Departments bear true faith allegiance to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the trust and confidence given us. Through education and training we fellowship with our community to increase the flow of communications, enhancing the probability of detouring criminal activity and ensuring the apprehension and prosecution of evil doers.
In keeping with the rights of the members of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation to live and enjoy their heritage, culture and traditional way of life, the members of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police Department, as well as the members of the Tribal Security and Dispatch Department will always strive diligently to preserve these rights through effective community policing efforts. We will obtain mission accomplishment by suppressing the elements of criminal activity within the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and maintaining peace and harmony within our community.
